History Lives At Barnegat Light!
The Barnegat Light Historical Society was formed to collect, preserve and develop exhibits for the museum and to oversee its operation. Started by a few women in Barnegat Light, they furnished the Museum with memorabilia donated by the townspeople. The Museum opened in 1957.
Today's officers, trustees and members of the Barnegat Light Historical Society & Museum work on a multitude of projects with the continuing goal of preserving the world of yesterday and today for future generations.
Many of our members volunteer as Museum docents and work throughout the summer, welcoming visitors and sharing our history.
